The State vs State (SvS) is the biggest and most challenging event in Whiteout Survival, where two entire states clash for dominance, valuable rewards, and the prestigious title of Supreme President.
Unlike regular events, SvS tests not just your individual power but also the coordination of your entire state. It’s a monthly event that rewards teamwork, smart preparation, and strategic battles.
The event is divided into four key phases: Matchmaking, Preparation, Battle, and Field Triage. Understanding each phase is essential if you want to secure victory for your state – whether you’re a free-to-play player or a heavy spender.

What is the State vs State (SvS) Event?
State vs State, also called State of Power, is a cross-server competition held monthly for states that are at least 12 weeks old. Two states are matched based on the combined power of their top 100 chiefs.
During SvS, you’ll compete in:
✅ Preparation Phase – complete daily tasks for 5 days to gain points and determine attacker/defender roles.
✅ Battle Phase – an 8-hour war for control of the Sunfire Castle.
✅ Field Triage Phase – recover lost troops and claim rewards.
Winning both phases grants your state ultimate control, including the right to appoint the Supreme President, who gives stronger buffs than the regular president.
1️⃣ - Phase 1: Matchmaking Phase
Duration: 2 days
How it works:
Day 1 → The game pairs states with similar top 100 Chief power levels.
Day 2 → You discover your opponent and can start planning your strategy.
✅ Tips for Matchmaking Phase:
Check your opponent’s alliance rankings and key players.
Identify potential whale players or alliances that might lead their state.
Start coordinating with your strongest alliances for rally strategies.
2️⃣ - Phase 2: Preparation Phase (5 days)
This is the most important phase because it determines who will be the attacker and who will defend during the Battle Phase.
Each of the 5 days has specific daily tasks, giving you points and milestone rewards. The state with the highest total points after 5 days becomes the attacker and gains an advantage.
Let’s break it down day by day:
3️⃣ - Phase 3: Battle Phase (8 hours)
The Battle Phase starts at 10:00 UTC Saturday.
You can teleport to the enemy state and fight for control of:
✅ Sunfire Castle
✅ Turrets around the castle
Victory Conditions:
Hold the Sunfire Castle for 4 continuous hours, OR
Be the alliance that held it the longest after 8 hours.
Key Mechanics in Battle Phase
Teleport Anywhere: You can teleport anywhere in the enemy state, even over occupied tiles.
Turret Mechanics: If both Castle & Turrets are held by the same state, turrets won’t attack the Castle.
Marching Ruins: Marching near the Castle slows your march. Use March Speed Boosts.
Attack Restrictions:
You can only attack Chiefs within ±3 Furnace Levels.
✅ Best Rally Leaders for Battle:
Attack rallies: Jessie, Seo-Yun
Defend (Garrison): Patrick, Sergey, Walis Boken
⚠️ President & Minister buffs don’t work during SvS Castle Battle. Only normal City bonuses & Pet bonuses apply.
4️⃣ - Phase 4: Field Triage Phase
After the Battle Phase, you can recover 30–90% of lost troops using:
Revival Potions
Alliance help
✅ Maximize your Revival rate first, then recover troops.
Rewards in State vs State
Milestone Rewards → For completing daily tasks
Personal Rewards → Based on individual points (resources, speed-ups, hero shards)
Alliance Rewards → Based on alliance performance in the Castle Battle
State Rewards → Winner can appoint Supreme President
Winning SvS gives huge advantages like faster healing, enlistment office boosts, and server-wide buffs.
Free-to-Play vs Spenders – Who Wins SvS?
Spenders can dominate individual leaderboards, but…
Free-to-play players are still valuable if they:
✅ Join every rally
✅ Train troops consistently
✅ Maximize daily milestone points
The real deciding factor is state coordination. A united state with good rally organization can beat stronger but disorganized opponents.
Final Tips for SvS Victory
⭐ Plan resources ahead – don’t waste Charms & Fire Crystals on minor events.
⭐ Coordinate with alliances – merge whales into one strong alliance for Castle fight.
⭐ Don’t skip Day 4 Troop Training – it’s the easiest for free-to-play.
⭐ Win Preparation Phase – it’s much harder to defend than to attack.
⭐ Use buffs wisely – march speed, troop attack/defense, and capacity boosts matter.
State vs State is not just a test of strength, but strategy, timing, and teamwork. Whether you’re free-to-play or a spender, contributing smartly can tilt the balance in your state’s favor.
🏁 Final Thoughts on SvS
State vs State is more than just a competition of raw power – it’s a true test of strategy, timing, and teamwork. Whether you’re a rally leader, a support player, or a free-to-play contributor, every action counts towards your state’s victory.
Winning the Preparation Phase sets the tone for the entire event, while smart coordination during the Battle Phase can turn the tide even against stronger opponents. Remember: organized states beat disorganized power.
