Wu Ming

No one knows his true name, but every village whispers his legend. A wandering martial artist, Wu Ming has earned fame through skill, strength, and an unwavering code of honor. With his Dragonslayer in hand, he’s become a nightmare to bandits that roam the tundra.

Despite living as a nomad, Wu Ming often stays briefly in poor towns, teaching Survivors how to defend themselves. “Teach a man to fight,” he says, “and you protect him for a lifetime.” His humility and kindness have made him beloved among the people—sometimes even serving as a teacher to the children, sharing tales from distant lands and teaching them to read and write.

But Wu Ming was not always this way. In his youth, he sought only glory. Determined to become the "World’s Number One Master," he studied under countless martial arts traditions and remained undefeated—until he met a mysterious elderly master who effortlessly defeated him in every duel.

Year after year, Wu Ming returned to challenge him, only to fail again and again. His pride turned to obsession, but he could never understand how he lost to a man so much older and weaker in appearance.

In their final encounter, bandits known as the Reapers attacked the elder’s village. Wu Ming tried to flee—but watched in awe as the old man, wielding nothing but a stick, took down heavily armed enemies to protect innocent lives. The master fell in the process, but the lesson lived on.

Witnessing this final act of courage, Wu Ming understood: true strength lies not in domination, but in righteousness and compassion. He took up the fallen master’s name and began walking the path of virtue—not to conquer, but to protect.

From that day on, he became known only as Wu Ming—“The Nameless One.”
